Office volunteer

Ms. Shirley is affectionally known and called by our students. She has volunteered at WCCA for many years. in 1881, her family, Pillsbury came to Palma Solce in Manatee County. In March 1885, the first SDA church was organized in Palmetto, Florida. in 1892, they decided to organize a school. Her family, the Pillsbury moved to Snead Island. With transportation being an issue, her grandfather Edward Pillsbury turned their wash shed into a 1 room school and hired a live-in teacher in 1911 on Snead Island. Then in 1913 after the church burned; they combined the 2 schools into 1. She was quoted by saying "I went to the last Palmetto school." She started the 2nd grade at the current location. Her boys were students at this school as well. She is a retired Orthopedic nurse and for 20 years has volunteered at the school.

Ms. Shirley has been a Pathfinder Director too.

One of favorite of her favorite teams is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She is showing her team spirit on this day.
